Gulf Shores

Gulf Shores/Orange Beach is one of my favorite places. The sand is sugar white, the water emerald green, the food good and the people friendly.

I posted links to a couple of places I really like (see below). There are some other places that had no link...

Zooland Mini-Golf: All you can play for $5.00. The course is older and doesn't have all the shiny new decorations of Pirate Island but it is challenging. I actually prefer this one to Pirate Island. Time your visit carefully because the place does get pretty busy.

King Neptune: Nice little dive. Good service and usually crowded at mealtime. The tv's tend to be on sports channels...take a break from the sun and catch up on your NASCAR or PGA.

Cafe Beignet: Stop in for breakfast once and you'll be back.

The Beaches: Private beaches are great but if you want to save a few bucks by staying a few miles inland the public beaches are incredible. The easiest to access is right at the end of 59. Just drive through the light into the parking lot. This lot fills up quickly so go early.

Cheap Hotel That is Nice: Microtel. Three miles from the beach. They just added a new building of suites only. The pool is small. The rooms are clean (very clean) and the staff friendly and helpful. Rates are VERY reasonable.

Condo: My bf's parents have a place at Gulf Shores Plantation. Multiple pools (one indoor), jacuzzis, exercise room, cafe, steam room, sauna, tennis courts, basketball courts, putting greens and an amazing private beach. A few miles from the strip creates the relaxation time you need within easy reach of the all the fun. If you'd like to check it out let me know and I can get you the contact info.
